The faces behind Backyard Studio are Laura and Sarah – two sisters from Christchurch, New Zealand.
Backyard Studio started after Laura had already been photographing weddings for a couple of years as LP Photography, wanting to expand, take on more challenges and see more smiles from the result of her photos, she decided to venture out on her own so with the help of friends and family, Backyard Studio was made a reality.

About Laura:
I have been taking photos for years… I vividly remember my first ever camera being a little blue point and shoot. I have a diploma in photography but most importantly, the desire to create beautiful images.
About Sarah:
I am currently a student at the Design & Arts College of NZ, studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I have a great passion for all things art, including photography.

We are both down to earth, easy to get along with and more than happy to blend into the background and capture your images (this means no bright white jackets will be worn by us on your wedding day!)
We love to throw ideas around but always have a clear idea of where we want to head with a shoot. The most important thing is that you, our clients are happy with the results because the images we create for you are going to be on your lounge wall for the next 50 years!
